BELCO: Bills Sent In Early June Are Incorrect

BELCO said they would like to advise their customers that “due to a billing system error, bills sent out from June 1st through June 3rd are incorrect and should be disregarded.”

The company said, “The error is a result of system changes implemented to accommodate the new billing rates as announced through the media last month.

“BELCO is currently working with the system vendor to address the issue as a matter of urgency and will resend corrected bills as soon as possible.

“It should be noted that the payment discount date is based on the billing date so when the incorrect bills are corrected and re-billed, a new discount date will be assigned.

“Should customers have any questions or concerns, they should contact BELCO’s Customer Care Department on 299.2800.

“BELCO apologises for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused and will continue to work with diligence to provide the corrected bills as soon as possible.”

    ” The share holders have eat the mistakes” it no different than what importers have to do when shipment are incorrect or botched up, custom duty; wharf-age; freight; insurance; agents fees; employees pay check + the re- order process + delays + seasonal delays.

    I think this incident exposes their incompetence more so than their greed. One would think that something as important as client billing would be thoroughly tested before being released…

    Makes you wonder how many other accounting errors were made over the years ?

    The numbers are quite random.

    How many of you really check your B .E. L. Co bills ? Should you even have to ? Our latest bill is trickle down mess !

    What is the facilities charge ? its a big one, we call it nickel and dime the public,did you see the fine print tax ? Is that tax or import duty,or another double dip ?

    They show that we have a 200 kw reduction in consumption.

    And that is not all, GOING FORWARD !

    We have 3 old extra poles on our boundary been there for over a year, one has rotted at the ground, held in place with scrap wire.

    One month they telling you how to decrease your consumption…The next month they crying about lost revenue and finally they have to increase the charges in one way or the other…really?? I wonder if they had a bumper crop would they decrease charges or sniggle all the way to the bank…
