Futsal: Atletico, Footy & HPWC Notch Wins
In recent futsal action, three games saw wins by Atletico, Footy, and HPWC, with play to resume on Wednesday, June 8 at the Bermuda College gymnasium.
In game one, league leaders Atletico had their hands full with SCC jumping out to an early lead 5 to 3 at half-time. Atletico came storming back into the game applying high pressure and was able to outscore SCC 5 to 1 to win the game at the end 8 to 6. Dashun Cooper was MVP for Atletico with a string of fine saves.
Idress Furbert was outstanding for SCC with 2 goals.
In game two, fans were treated to another close game between Simplemente Futsal and Footy Force. Footy jumped out to an early lead and at half-time were up 4 to 1. Simplemente found their scoring touch in the second-half with 4 goals to Footy’s 3, but Footy ended up with the overall victory 7 to 5.
Nathan Rego was outstanding for Footy, scoring four goals with Shaun Brown MVP for Simplemente with one goal.
Game three was another nail biter between HPWC and St. George’s. HPWC jumped out to an early lead in the first half scoring 4 goals to St. George’s 1. The second-half was a different story with St. George’s outscoring their opponents 3 to 2. However, they fell just short and HPWC was able to hold on to win 6 to 4.
Chris Caisey was MVP for HPWC scoring 2 goals. David Signor was outstanding for St. George’s with 2 goals.
There are no games this Saturday due to Bermuda’s National Team game; games resume on June 8 starting at 6.00pm at the Bermuda College gymnasium.
