July 19, 2016

Team Bermuda debaters are making their way to Stuttgart in advance of the World Schools Debate Championships, set to begin on Thursday, July 21.

The team includes Megan Sutcliffe, Bathsheba Jones, Namrata Bisht, and Asha Symons; Megan Sutcliffe is the team captain. Due to visa constraints, Namrata Bisht is not able to travel with the team.

The team faces the Netherlands in the first round, debating the motion “This House believes that, after meeting their basic needs, individuals have a moral responsibility to donate their wealth towards poverty.”

The Bermuda squad’s second round will see them oppose the team from Montenegro in an impromptu motion, to be announced one hour before the round begins.
