Clarke Signs With Queens University Of Charlotte

Queens University of Charlotte Head Field Hockey Coach Brandi Kist announced the addition of three new student-athletes to her program, with Abby Carls, Meghan Smiga and Bermuda’s Maha Clarke set to join this coming fall.

In making the announcement the University, which is in North Carolina, said, “Clarke was a member of the Bermuda U21 Field Hockey Team, spending most of her time as a midfielder and defender.

“She was also captain of the Longtails Field Hockey Club Team helping her team finish third in the Bermuda Women’s Field Hockey League. Additionally, Clarke competed in track and field, cross country, basketball and badminton.”

“Maha is a dangerous attacker with great speed and skill best showcased in the circle,” Kist commented. “Her tenacious drive to score will add a spark in our forward line. A motivated player with a team first focus we are looking forward to her contributions.”

Carls, Smiga and Clarke will join seven other newcomers in the fall as the Royals officially begin NCAA Division II Field Hockey competition.
