JetBlue Flight #369 Diverts For Sick Passenger
[Updated] JetBlue Flight #369 diverted to the island this evening [August 20] after a passenger took ill and the pilot made the decision to turn the plane around to come to Bermuda, landing at the LF Wade International Airport at approximately 7.30pm.
The plane was met at the terminal by Bermuda Fire and Rescue personnel who assisted in transferring the patient to an awaiting ambulance before they were transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Airbus A320 which departed from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York was on its way to Punta Cana International Airport in Dominican Republic when the diversion occurred. The JetBlue airliner later took on fuel before continuing on to its original destination.
Update 11.45am, August 21: A Police spokesperson said, “At 7:10pm on Saturday, August 20, a Jet Blue Flight 369 was diverted to Bermuda from the Dominican Republic as a result of a 63-year-old male suffering from chest pains.
“The man was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment and the flight continued on its journey.”
