Flight Diverts Due To Medical Emergency
A Frontier Airlines flight – that was traveling from San Juan to Philadelphia — diverted to Bermuda on Saturday [May 18] due to a medical emergency onboard.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Saturday 18th May, 4:55 am – RCC Bermuda received a telephone call from New York air traffic control advising a flight had diverted to Bermuda due to a medical emergency onboard, the flight enroute from San Juan to Philadelphia was around 200 miles out allowing approximately 40 minutes before landing.
“RCC Bermuda followed the procedure for an emergency landing outside of normal airport operating hours by paging / calling emergency services and the required airport staff. The Airbus A320 Frontier Airlines flight landed at 05:30 and the patient was transferred to a waiting ambulance.”
