Vicki Abraham Joins ACBDA Marketing Team
Vicki Abraham, a Bermudian communications professional with significant international experience, is joining the ACBDA team full-time to focus on the marketing and communications aspects of Bermuda’s responsibilities for the America’s Cup and what it means to Bermuda and Bermudians, the ACBDA announced today.
“The Director of Communications and Marketing role at ACBDA is a collaborative role between ACBDA and America’s Cup Event Authority [ACEA] to bring America’s Cup to the people of Bermuda. Ms Abraham will formally commence on September 19th,” the ACBDA said.
“Mike Winfield, CEO, ACBDA welcomed Vicki today. She is recognized in Bermuda from her years as a television news reporter, since which she has held senior management positions in marketing and communications in the non-profit sector and in telecommunications.
“Most recently she worked at the City of Hamilton, where she was a key part of the success of the Bermuda Fashion Festival.”
Ms Abraham says: “There’s so much about America’s Cup that as Bermudians we can be proud of. I look forward to bringing the event to our whole community and making it relevant to everyone. This is as much about the inspiration for Bermuda to be even better at what we do and to believe even more in the place we call home as it is about the excitement of America’s Cup racing.
“As Bermudians we have a uniquely strong and proud culture where we come together when it matters. It’s our intent to give our whole community a reason to be proud.”
Mr. Winfield says: “As the AC35 approaches and the excitement increases, ACBDA needed a dedicated in-house resource to distribute information and strengthen relationships deep within the community. We welcome Vicki to the team to help us achieve this goal.
“One of the most important things to ACBDA, is that the people of Bermuda know all about the event, understand the significant benefits it is bringing to Bermuda and that those who want to participate, can do so easily.”
Ms Abraham will work alongside Mikaela Pearman, Marketing & Communications Executive for ACBDA. Ms Pearman’s responsibilities include internal communications, media relations and content development.
