A group of jet skiers in distress required police assistance on Sunday night [Aug 28] when one ski was in a “sunken condition” and needed to be towed.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “On Sunday, August 28 at 9.44pm. The Bermuda Police Service receives a 911 call from a group of Jet Skiers in distress off Tyne’s Bay, North Shore.
“RCC Bermuda establishes contact with ski operators who advise that one ski was in a sunken condition and being towed by another which has since broken down with all parties now adrift. Bermuda Radio commenced urgent marine broadcasts without response, tasking Marine Police a short while later.
“Marine Police unit ‘Rescue 1’’ takes both skis under tow, arriving back into Dockyard just after midnight.”
