October 21, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court, Craivon Seymour was sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting that he intruding on the privacy of a young girl, and improperly touched her for sexual purposes.

Seymour received the sentence after pleading guilty to offences of intruding on the privacy and improperly touching her for sexual purposes, with the Court hearing the girl is primary school age.

The offences resulting in the sentence took place between 2015 and 2016.

In handing down his judgement, the Magistrate said that the sentence needed to reflect the community’s abhorrence of behaviour of this kind.

The sentences were to run concurrent with each other. Therefore the sentence was 18 months in prison, with time spent in custody taken into account.

The Magistrate also ruled that after his release from prison, Seymour was to be on probation for two years and was required to follow all instructions set out in the SIR and as given by his assigned Probation Officer.
