Police Investigation: Suspect Brandishing Gun
Police are investigating two incidents which both involved the suspects “brandishing what appeared to be a firearm” last night.
The first one saw two men on a motorcycle arrive at a Pembroke residence brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanding money, while the second incident saw two men on a motorcycle approach another motorcyclist on Palmetto Road in Devonshire, also brandishing what appeared to be a firearm.
Pembroke Incident
A police spokesperson said, “Around 5:15pm on Tuesday, November 8th police officers responded to a reported aggravated burglary at an Orchard Grove, Pembroke residence.
“It appears that two unknown men on a motorcycle arrived at the residence, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm, demanding money.
“However, they left empty handed a short time later on the motorcycle they arrived on.
“One suspect was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, with the other said to be 5 feet 10 inches tall.
“Apparently both were wearing dark coloured helmets and clothing, riding a maroon coloured motorcycle.
“There were no reported injuries and the alleged victims have so far declined to assist police.
Devonshire Incident
The police said, “Later that evening, around 11:30pm, police received a report of two men on a reddish coloured motorcycle approaching another male motorcyclist on Palmetto Road in Devonshire near the junction with Tribe Road No. 2.
“One of the men on the reddish coloured motorcycle apparently brandished what appeared to be a firearm.
“However, the male motorcyclist that was confronted managed to elude the two suspects and was not injured.
“Inquiries continue regarding both incidents and the possibility that they may be linked has not been ruled out.”
Appeal for Information
“Any witnesses or persons with any information should contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744 or the confidential and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
Two men on maroon and red bike sounds like the same individuals.
It is terribly inconvenient to be stopped by Police at a routine vehicle road check-point, how-ever I am willing to go thru that process if its goona help to deter those who have criminal activity in mind. Every operator will be required at these check-points to produce a driver,s licence and a radio check will disclose whether not the operator is disqualified, vehicle insured or any warrants. Culprits tend to swerve away from chek=point..at which point the Police can act on their attempt to avoid a check=point. If two or three check-points are being operated simultaneously, that should produce some results.
What are you smoking.
Seriously.
It’ll be great to have these searches in the wee hours of the morning as well these are the hours when these so called criminals make their moves .. even when it comes to moving their so called firearms from one place or parish to hide them in another place or parish.
if folks feel that they have no worries about running into the police at any time, they will continue to go up and down our streets and do whatever they wish whenever they wish,
