PLP To Host 51st Annual Delegates Conference
The Progressive Labour Party announced that their 51st Annual Delegates Conference, “Vision 2025”, will take place between Tuesday, December 6th and Thursday, December 8th at the BIU Headquarters Building, Union Street, Hamilton, beginning each evening at 6:00 pm.
Party Chairman, Scott Simmons said: “Every year, delegates, party members, the Parliamentary Group, Executive, workers and volunteers gather at our Delegates Conference to continue the evolution of the party.
“This is an inclusive platform and we encourage contribution of ideas from all. The most dynamic changes that have occurred in Bermuda over the past 50 years are because PLP change-makers made them happen. We encourage members and delegates to attend. We welcome those interested in becoming members to sign up at the door.”
The highlight of the first evening of the Conference on Tuesday will be an address by Party Leader David Burt, who said: “I’m honoured to be leading the party into our 2016 Delegates Conference.
“Our party is vibrant and on the move; we have vision. This is likely to be the last Conference before the next General Election and I encourage all members to participate this week to help shape the future of our party and country.”
The PLP said, “On Wednesday, the Constitutional Reports will be considered and elections of Officers and Party Organisers will take place. On Thursday, there will be further elections of Party Trustees alongside discussion on resolutions and other important matters.
“A slide presentation ‘2016 in Review’ will show each evening and musical presentations and tributes will be delivered. Membership application forms will be available at the door. We look forward to greeting all our supporters.”
