‘Memorial Moon Walk’ Set For January 13

Friends of Hospice have organised a new event for the community called ‘Memorial Moon Walk’ to start the new year off with a walk to remember loved ones.

The Memorial Moon Walk will take place at night during the full moon on Friday, January 13, starting at 6.30pm at Chaplin Bay in Warwick. Registration begins at 6.30pm, with a $5 fee for each walker, and the walk itself beginning at 7:00pm

A spokesperson said, “It is a great way to start the new year off. The public are welcomed to join Friends of Hospice for this tranquil walk along the south shore beaches and trails under the splendor of a Bermuda full moon to celebrate family and friends who are living with a life limiting illness and to remember those near and dear to us who have passed away.

“The walk start on the beach at Chaplin Bay and starts at 6.30pm. Since the walk takes place at night walkers are reminded to bring their own flashlights for the walk.

“Candles will be available to purchase to light after the walk at Chaplin Bay and there will be a moment to reflect and remember ones loved ones. Registration is $5 at Chaplin Bay. All proceeds from the event will be used to provide programmes and services that enhance the quality for hospice patients and their family.
