Kids In Construction Event At Washington Mall
In order to “highlight trades training and provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talents,” the Construction Association of Bermuda [CAOB] and members of the community are sponsoring the Kids in Construction event at Washington Mall.

A spokesperson said, “Middle school students are delivering the goods. Need a new mailbox or a beautiful ornament for your garden? Sandys Middle School, Dellwood Middle School, Bermuda High School for Girls, and Warwick Academy are competing for best mailbox design and build.
“High school students are building their future. Bermudians know you can never have too much storage. CedarBridge Academy and The Berkeley Institute have gone head to head, with two teams each, designing and building garden sheds.
“Sheds will be easily assembled and disassembled. They, too, will be auctioned and sold to the highest bidder.
“Visit Washington Mall, Phase 3, Lower Level [near Beluga Bar and the Food Court] during regular opening hours to view the entries and place your bids.
“Overall winners will be the garden shed and mailbox that garners the highest bid. Other categories include: Most Creative Design, Most Bermuda-centric Design, Best Use of Recycled Materials, and for the Garden Sheds, Best Business Plan and Best Provision of Storage.
“There are certificates, trophies, cash for D&T/Art Departments, and individual prizes, plus gift bags for participants.
“The auction runs from February 25 at 10.00am until March 2 at 5.00pm. Bids may be made in person or on our Facebook page beginning Monday, February 27.
“The mailboxes and garden sheds will be on public display from Saturday, February 25 through Friday, March 3. Everyone is encouraged to view the projects and place their bids.”
