Regulatory Authority Approves FibreWire Trial
The Regulatory Authority has given approval for One Communications to immediately commence a technical trial of its FibreWire broadband services to a small sample of its current customer base.
“The Authority has specified various parameters for the trial to ensure it is consistent with various regulations, as well as the Authority’s remit to protect consumer interests and promote competition,” a spokesperson said.
“The details of the trial are confidential. Households eligible for the trial will be contacted by the company directly to seek consent for their participation.”
Last month, One Communications said they have rolled out almost sixty miles of super-fast fibre optic cabling reaching nearly 1,400 homes, with the company saying that ”installing its FibreWire network is part of a $20m investment in its infrastructure that will dramatically improve both internet speed and 4G LTE coverage.”
