June 26, 2020 | 6 Comments

One Communications announced it will be “launching the Island’s fastest FibreWire Internet speeds on July 1st, boasting up to 500Mbps, another first for Bermuda.”

The company said they “will automatically boost the vast majority of FibreWire Standard Internet and all Smart Internet Plans. Customers can expect to receive a more than 50% increase in their Internet speeds at no extra charge.”

“Sheltering in Place and Work from Home mandates have given us an opportunity to test the bandwidth of our network and its true potential”, says Brian Lonergan, One Communications’ Chief Commercial Officer.

“Our newest FibreWire Internet speed boost will allow customers to continue working, connecting with others, streaming and enjoying a multitude of other digital experiences, without limitation, from the comforts of home.”

“On March 19th, One Communications had temporarily increased its FibreWire Internet speeds to a minimum of 50Mbps to support customers having to work from home and shelter-in-place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This effort will be replaced by the new, permanent Internet speed boosts as of July 1st, 2020, undoubtedly becoming the best value Internet service on the Island.”

Come on, you know you want to day something nice….

    • Cost is coming says:

Don’t worry. Next month there could be the announcement that they will be raising your rates after giving us free upgrade. Typical marketing bait and switch! It’s this free upgrade ploy that the Regulatory Commission should defend consumers on. I don’t need more speed so no thanks!

  3. Anbu says:

When we actually get the speeds we pay for, u providers can boast abt how great u are. No point bragging abt your speed when the modem/router u lot supply barely provides a signal past say 10ft. Wont even get started on your technicians. For every 10 u have, 1 knows what they r doing.
