Photos: Tokio Millenium Re U8 Prize Presentation
The Tokio Millennium Re 8&Under League concluded on Saturday [June 24] with all the league teams playing their last game followed by a prize presentation to recognise the participants in the league.
Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] National Coach Clay Smith and Tokio Millennium Re representative, Dimitrea Hanley presented the participation medals to the players.
President of the BCB, Mr. Lloyd Fray stated, “This year I was extremely pleased to note that we had 12 teams participating in the 8&Under Tokio Millennium Re League which saw 12 consecutive weeks of cricket being played.”
Mr. Fray explained, “The BCB Youth Leagues are designed to accommodate a mix of teams from both local clubs and schools. The main purpose of our leagues is to teach the skills of cricket while enriching the lives of all of Bermuda’s children. The leagues provide an opportunity to interact with each other in a safe and fun environment that embraces equality, team spirit and togetherness.”
Mr. Fray concluded by saying, “I would like to take this time to thank the clubs, volunteer coaches, parents and of course long-time supporters, Tokio Millennium Re. Tokio Millennium Re is committed to bettering the lives of children in Bermuda through donations to youth and family services agencies as well as through supporting youth sports.”
