Man Arrested After He, Baby “Fall” From Window

A father was arrested on suspicion of endangering the life of a child after he and his 7 month old son were “injured after falling from a second storey window,” the police have confirmed.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Martin Weekes said, “Around 8:30pm Sunday, July 2nd police and first responders were dispatched to a reported domestic dispute between a couple at a Devon Spring Road, Devonshire residence.

“It appears that a 33 year old Hamilton parish man and his 7 month old son were injured after falling from a second storey window.

“Both father and son were transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment where they remain. The child’s mother was not injured.

“The father was later arrested on suspicion of endangering the life of a child and granted police bail pending further inquiries.

“A 42 year old Smith’s parish man that intervened in the dispute was initially arrested but has since been released.

“Bermuda Police Service detectives working closely with our partners in Child & Family Services continue to investigate the circumstances of this domestic incident and encourage any witnesses that have not already come forward as well as persons with relevant information to call 247-1744.”
