Traffic To Be Restricted Due To Funeral Service
Traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in effect in Hamilton on Wednesday [July 5] due to the funeral for the late Constable Latasha Gibson.
A police spokesperson said, “On Wednesday 5th July at 1pm a ceremonial police funeral for the late Constable Latasha Gibson will take place at The Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street in the City of Hamilton.
“The motoring public is advised that the following temporary traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in effect, with police officers assisting in traffic management.
“Section of Cedar Avenue Temporarily Closed
“To accommodate the arrival of the funeral cortege, vehicular access to a section of Cedar Avenue between Church Street and Victoria Street will be temporarily restricted.
“Section of Church Street Temporarily Closed
“Church Street between Cedar Avenue and Parliament Street will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 12:30pm until the conclusion of the funeral [approximately 3pm].
“However, access to Hamilton MarketPlace car park will be allowed.
“Temporary Parking Restrictions
“Vehicles will not be able to park on the north side of Church Street between Cedar Avenue and Parliament Street from 6am until the conclusion of the funeral [approximately 3pm].”
