Argo Group To Sponsor Vestas 11th Hour Racing
Bermuda-based Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. announced a new partnership with Volvo Ocean Race contenders Vestas 11th Hour Racing.
Through this sponsorship, Argo Group becomes an official partner of the team throughout the entire Volvo Ocean Race 2017–2018 edition, beginning in October.
The race’s legs span a total of 45,000 miles through 12 landmark host cities, giving Argo Group a strong international platform to reinforce the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable sports.
“Our partnership is an ideal opportunity for collaboration,” said Argo Group CEO Mark E. Watson III. “The qualities that we at Argo Group value – courage, sustainability and team-driven innovation – match those of Vestas 11th Hour Racing. Together, we will use the exciting Volvo Ocean Race to showcase these values for racing fans around the world.”
Vestas is returning this year to the Volvo Ocean Race for a second consecutive edition, this time joined by 11th Hour Racing, a programme of The Schmidt Family Foundation. The mixed crew will be made up of at least six nationalities, and led by the American duo of Charlie Enright and Mark Towill, which Argo also sponsored in the 2014-2015 Volvo Ocean Race.
“We are thrilled to partner with Argo Group, an organization that shares so many of our values,” said Towill, co-founder and team director of Vestas 11th Hour Racing. “We are committed to achieving exemplary results in sport and sustainability, and we welcome others who support these values.”
