Bermuda Sailors In Gold Fleet In Canada

Bermuda sailor Sebastian Kempe retained the lead in the Championship Fleet at the Canadian Optimist Championships.

The fleet of 129 sailors have now been broken into two groups, with all the Bermuda sailors in the Top Fleet.

Kempe is managing to stay on top of the Gold Fleet with 17 net points. Kempe recorded a 2nd place finish in race one of the day and the sixth of the series. He would then record a black flag disqualification under rule 30.4 in the next race before closing out the day with a 5th place finish in the final race of the day.

Another Bermuda sailor Christian Ebbin is in 6th place with 47 points. Genevieve Lau is 16th with 89 points while Leyli Walker is in 20th place with 103 points and Rachael Betschart is 24th with 129 points.

Laura Hupman is in 45th with 191 points, Skye Oliveira has 263 points and currently holds the 63rd position, and Millie Lewis is 64th with 265 points.
