Cruise Ship Arrives Early Due To Sick Passenger

This week the Celebrity Summit cruise ship arrived in Bermuda a day early — on Tuesday instead of Wednesday — as a female passenger was in need of medical treatment ashore.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Cruise ship Celebrity Summit arrives into Bermuda a day early for the medical disembarkation of a female passenger in need of further medical treatment ashore.

“The vessel, originally due to arrive on the 30th August, anchored in Grassy Bay before berthing alongside King’s Wharf, Dockyard. The patient was subsequently taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.“
