Two People Arrested After Incident In Dockyard
Police have confirmed that a two males were taken to hospital with “serious head/facial injuries” and “26-year-old female and 23-year-old male from the cruise ship” have been arrested following what the police termed an “altercation” between “three passengers from the Norwegian Breakaway and two local males around the theft of jewelry.”
A police spokesperson said, “Police responded to a report of an incident that took place a few minutes after 3am on Friday in Dockyard in the area of the Pharmacy.
“Details are still unfolding but it appears that an altercation took place between three passengers from the Norwegian Breakaway and two local males around the theft of jewelry.
“As a result a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were taken to the hospital with serious head/facial injuries and a 26-year-old female and 23-year-old male from the cruise ship have been arrested in connection with this matter.
“Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact Detective Sgt. Renee Rock on 295-0011.”
Footage said to be of the incident is circulating, with the video showing someone being beaten up and a woman’s voice heard alleging the person “tried to run up on us and steal our s***.”
The police said, “It also should be noted, police are aware of the footage that is being circulating in connection with this incident on social media, that footage will play a role in the investigation.”
