Traffic Advisory For Cycle Race On Sunday

The Ministry of Public Works is reminding the public that the Bermuda Bicycle Association will be holding a road race tomorrow [Oct. 29] from 7:30am – 10:00am on various roads in Pembroke, Hamilton, Smiths and St George’s parishes.

A Government spokesperson said, “There will be no road closures. However, motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution and to give priority and consideration to the race participants during this time.

“Motorists are also advised to follow directions given by the Police and Race Officials.

The Bicycle race route is as follows:

  • Start/ finish at the bus stop on the east bound lane close to the Pembroke Community Club North Shore, continue heading east until the reaching the roundabout at the junction of Kindley Field and St Davids Road.
  • Cyclists navigate the roundabout heading west back along North Shore turning left on to St Johns Road, then make the right turn onto Pitts Bay Road back to the start/ finish Participants will make a maximum of one lap.

“On the race route only between the hours of 7:30am and 10:00am the speed limit will be raised to 75km/hr to accommodate the speeds of the cyclists.

“The Ministry of Public Works thanks the public for their cooperation while the races are underway. “
