End-To-End Invite Charities To Apply For Funds

The Bermuda End-to-End is inviting local charities to apply for support from funds that will be raised in its 31st annual event, which is scheduled for May 5, 2018.

In 2018, the XL Catlin-sponsored event’s funding focus will once again be on the needs of families in Bermuda. The proceeds of the 2018 event will be used to fund non-sectarian Bermuda charitable projects, programmes, and/or operating expenses that will help to support and strengthen Bermuda families.

“We believe that resilient families are the foundation of a strong, healthy community. Some members of our Bermuda families are facing difficult challenges and our goal is to help them overcome some of these obstacles through our financial support,” says Anne Mello, Chair of the End-to-End. “And we are therefore seeking applications from Bermuda charities that will address a social need listed in one of three population categories.”

The categories are listed as follows:

• Seniors – basic needs [food, shelter, clothing, health] and support services
• Youth – enrichment opportunities to help overcome negative social issues
• Families – support services for physical and emotional trauma and health

The End-to-End committee will be looking for submissions that clearly define the issue selected and describe the relevant solution that will be implemented should the application be successful. Submissions must also indicate what outcomes or impacts the project or programme will have on the community and how these results will be measured.

Proceeds from the 2018 XL Catlin End-to-End will be distributed between four to five charities, and submission budgets should be based upon a $50,000 allocation. Funding will be distributed in June 2018 and an End-to-End progress report will be required by December 31, 2018.

Charities wishing to be considered must download and complete the official application from the End-to-End’s website.

Applications must be returned to the End-to-End charity by 5 p.m. on October 27, 2017. The XL Catlin End-to-End event is organised by the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust and is supported by title sponsor, XL Catlin, Platinum sponsors Royal Gazette and numerous other local sponsors and individual event participants.
