Smith Finishes 3rd In New Zealand O’pen Bic
Bermudian sailor Ahzai Smith has finished 3rd in the Rilean Construction New Zealand O’pen Bic National Championships hosted by the Wakatipu Yacht Club in Queenstown, New Zealand among a fleet of 41 boats.
Smith, who was the defending champion, finished with 42.5 Net Points level with second place finisher Mattias Coutts from New Zealand, while Australian Travis Wadley won the event with 35 Net Points.
Smith recorded wins in the 8th and 9th race of the 12 race regatta, he also finished 2nd twice, Smith would finish in the top 10 in all but 1 race which was the first race of the series when he finished 15th.
