Mirrors Programme To Host QLS Next Month

January 21, 2018

The Minister of Social Development and Sports Zane DeSilva announced that Mirrors Programme will be hosting a Quantum Learning for Students [QLS] camp for middle schoolers from February 14 – 17 at Willowbank Resort and Conference Centre in Somerset.

This is an opportunity for students aged 11 – 13 years to engage in a camp with a focus on communication, critical thinking and character development.

This four-day Mirrors Camp will give 60 middle school students an incredible opportunity to develop their socio-emotional skills while learning to build and maintain relationships with others more effectively using the innovative neuroscience-based learning techniques developed by Quantum Learning Network.

The Ministry said, “QLS is not a typical classroom or camp experience; it uses a structured curriculum to provide students’ with intensive personal development to be more effective learners.

“Students will be introduced to the 8 Keys of Excellence, which focus on developing values-based behaviour. Mirrors SuperCamp keeps student minds and bodies moving and engaged throughout the day as they learn and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

“A one-day parent workshop is also being offered in conjunction with the camp for parents of students who participate. The one-day workshop is an opportunity for parents to be introduced to the 8 Keys of Excellence and the concepts provided to students during their four-day workshop.

“To register your child for camp and sign up for the parent workshop please contact Mirrors’ Enrolment Manager, Nicola Feldman Paugh, on nmfeldman@gov.bm or call the Mirrors office on 294-9291.”
