[Updating] Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt is set to deliver the 2018 Budget in the House of Assembly this morning [Feb 16], which will set out the Government’s financial plans for the upcoming fiscal year.

This budget will be the first Budget delivered by the PLP Government following their victory at the polls last year, and it is expected to be focused on “economic growth,” Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt said recently at the Pre-Budget Public Forum.

No its gonna screw those who benefitted from de AC ( after allowing hundreds of Millions of dollars to slip by in AC duty free) and those who profitted of de lower income workers, thats what pisses me off about de undeserved privileged, your generational wealth has sustained you but you b!+€# about workers who have’nt had a raise in 7 years (but PLP give us an increase 7 months while being in Government) while prices kept goin up.

So the PLP applaud that the debt is just $2.42 BILLION???? Unbelievable. Borrowing up by another $90million. This is just unsustainable. The good ship Bermuda has started sinking again.

Had the OBA presented this Budget there would be protests already. Anti Bermudian, pro foreigner, selling Bermuda to foreigners, more expats, no jobs for Bermudians. You name it. However it is sold as a budget for the people to make it acceptable and believable.

OJ. This budget is good for Bermuda, not good for Bermudians. Opening up the 60/40 may well result in new companies opening up but they will kill local business and provide minimum wage, except we don’t have it, jobs. No benefits no 60 days vacation or sick leave. Good that costs will reduce for the rich, not good for the locals who will have less. You really need to get out and understand.
Well if workers dont get organized to recieve those benefits thats their problem.

If there was applause, it was at the fact the 2017-18 year was even better than expected. He did seem to be trying to take credit for the success of his predecessors, all while making snide comments about the AC whenever he got the chance.
2018-2019 will be his chance to show us whether he can do any better.

It is high time that the elitist person agenda of entitlement and control is broken and replaced with education and investment opportunities for all Bermudians whatever shade of skin they are but not those born of an elitist family of the 40 Thieves. I know it hurts but just think of how the rest of us have suffered at the hands of protectionist policies and balancing budgets that include elitist events that don’t return the profit projected.
