Pilgrim & Ingham Compete In F1 Triathlon
Young triathletes Nicholas Pilgrim and Caleb Ingham competed in the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge F1 Triathlon in Florida.
The pair competed in the 12-16 year 0ld division, which saw the competitors compete over a 375m swim, 10K bike and 2.5K run.
Pilgrim finished second in a time of 32:35. He was 13 seconds behind the winner Jeremy Lajoie who was clocked at 32:22, and he finished ahead of the third place finisher Mac Howie by 3 seconds. Pilgrim was clocked at 5:59 over the swim distance, 16:10 on the bike course and 9:36 on the run course.
Ingham finished 13th with a time of 37:40. Unfortunately he had a wetsuit malfunction after the swim, and it took two and a half minutes to unjam the zipper, leaving Ingham well behind the lead pack. However he displayed good sportsmanship and pressed on to finish the race, clocking 6:11 on the swim, 18:13 on the bike and 10:51 on the run.
