‘Your Cake Diva’ Set To Take On Bermuda
The City Food Festival starts this week, with wine and chocolate tasting, a private 5-course vodka dinner, and professional chef demonstrations all on the schedule, along with Just Desserts, Cake Edition, on Sunday, April 15 at 3.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “Just Desserts has always been popular as people sample succulent sweets from vendors across the island in a lovely setting overlooking Hamilton Harbour. What makes this year special is the added fun of having a renowned celebrity cake maker feature at the event.
“Your Cake Diva, otherwise known as Porsha Kimble, will join the Festival this year and lead a cake decorating workshop, sharing her techniques and secrets with avid bakers.”
Ms. Kimble said, “I am looking forward to being a part of this weekend. This is our first time coming that direction and for me to do something international with cake. I am looking forward to learning about the food culture there in Bermuda and experiencing what the festival has to offer. Being able to bring my knowledge and share among other cake enthusiasts is a dream come true.”
Event coordinator, Thomas Lightbourne, said, “All ticket holders to Just Desserts will receive their very own cake at the event. Decorating supplies will be available to everyone and they will have the opportunity to learn the art of cake decorating directly from Your Cake Diva.”
“As an added incentive, Your Cake Diva will actually judge the best cake in a fun competition and the winner will take home a KitchenAid mixer – what should be a fixture in any baker’s kitchen. We’re encouraging everyone, especially all cake decorating enthusiasts, to come out for this special event to get first-hand knowledge from one of the best in the business.”
“The City is giving away a pair of tickets to Just Desserts, Cake Edition. All you have to do is visit the City of Hamilton’s Facebook page and answer the contest question by 12pm on Friday, April 13th . The winner will be randomly selected from all the correct submissions and will receive a pair of tickets.”
“Sweet treats from Bermuda Cupcake Co., Sugar Shack, Sweet Saak Bakery, Glaze and MarketPlace will all be on offer. The Event will be held at Pier 6, upper level. Tickets for Just Desserts, Cake Edition are only $50 and are available online.”
