Teens Arrested In Connection With Stolen Bikes

Two teens have been arrested in connection with the theft of three scooters recently from the Transport Control Department [TCD] on North Street according to police.

A police spokesperson said, “Detectives are currently conducting inquiries regarding three 50cc scooters recently reported stolen from the Transport Control Department [TCD] on North Street in the City of Hamilton.

“The three scooters were secured in a shipping container on the premises and used for Project Ride.

“It appears that all three were removed sometime between 6:30pm Thursday, April 5th and 9am Saturday, April 7th.

“Two of the scooters were subsequently recovered while the third, believed to be a maroon coloured Suzuki Address 50cc bearing license plate 566 AQ, has not been located at this time.

“A 14 year old boy and a 15 year old boy were arrested in connection with this matter and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

“Any witnesses or persons with relevant information – including members of the public who may know the whereabouts of the third stolen scooter described as a maroon coloured Suzuki Address 50cc bearing license plate 566 AQ – are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.”
