May 29, 2018

The Bermuda Nurses Association [BNA] is getting set to hold a panel discussion at Bermuda College from 6.00pm to 8.00pm this evening [May 29], featuring “panel members with an interest in health, culture, health economics and health insurance coverage.”

A spokesperson said, “In celebration of Nurse’s Month, the Bermuda Nurses Association [BNA] is holding a panel discussion to inform the public about the 2018 theme for the International Council of Nurses [ICN]: Nurses – A Voice to Lead: Health is a Human Right.

“This is a broad and complex topic, particularly in the Bermuda context. We will have panel members with an interest in health, culture, health economics and health insurance coverage.

“The objectives are to increase community awareness of access to health services in Bermuda; identify social determinants of health and discuss suggestions for policy change; engage the nursing community to advocate for the human right to a high standard of health; and develop strategies to support a people-centered approach to care to promote health and equity within Bermuda’s health system.

“This event is free and open to the public. It is scheduled to take place Tuesday, May 29 at Bermuda College North Hall Lecture Theatre Room G301 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.”
