May 23, 2018

The seventh annual “You Go Girl” female-only relay is set to take place in Hamilton on Sunday, June 3 in Hamilton with proceeds from the event donated to the Womens Resource Centre.

A spokesperson said, “The You Go Girl! Relay is a fun all-female relay race that will be taking place in Hamilton on Sunday, June 3rd. This will be our 7th year in a row holding this event, and the proceeds from this event are donated to our local Womens Resource Centre. Last year, we raised $8,000 in funds for Womens Resource Center and this year, we hope to raise some more!

“The event is a MAAC race and is generously sponsored by OIL Insurance, U by Kotex and Beyond Fitness. It is a 2k, 4k, 6k loop for teams of 3 women. DJ Ricochet will be spinning all the best girl power tunes to get our ladies pumped, and Christine Dailey from Beyond Fitness will be conducting the race warm-up. Creative costumes are encouraged but not required!

“We will have lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs for all our participants in our post-race raffle. Grand prize is a weekend for two at the beautiful Hamilton Princess!”

    this is sexist

Real question from a man who supports equal rights for women; would a race For only men be considered sexist? Without adding to the question or questioning the question can you say no? This women’s only race may support a positive cause but exhibits the actions the group is fighting against. I hope when running this race you take a good look at the ones who need a resource center. They sleep on the side walks and benches of Hamilton. They are not women. We are such a small community one day we should have a race for those homeless men.
