  1. Core Values says:

A significant appointment and so well spoken on the importance of independence from politics and the Government of the day.

We are lucky to have such bench strength on our legal system that we can continue to appoint quality and qualified Bermudians – be we Bermudian by birth or grant of status – under our law we are equal.

    • Athena says:

Core values – I totally echo your view.

We are extremely fortunate to have Mr. Hargun who is well respected, even handed and of impeccable character as Chief Justice. He is a man who will uphold and strengthen our legal system for the benefit all Bermudians.

  2. J R Smith says:

Oh Bermuda when will we learn?

    • Anbu says:

      Learn what?

      • puzzled says:

        JR just wants more division.

        • Double S says:

He and his colleagues are no different than Trumpsters who view naturalised citizens as not being ‘real Americans.’

This is why when they whine about this and that I just smile at their massive and blatant hypocrisy.

          • jaybird says:

That is blatantly false! At no time has Trump ever alluded that naturalized citizens are not real Americans – he’s married to one you idiot!

    • jt says:

Stop being obtuse. Come out with it.

  3. Carlton says:

put that in your pipe Colonel tee hee

  4. Warwick West says:

Core values – totally agree yours. We ARE ALL Bermudians – whether by birth or status. It IS the same rights. Lets get over ourselves folks!

  5. An unnecessary choice. What would be a reason for this g. to choose someone from elsewhere when there are very intelligent, educated, much smarter persons straight from this island.
    Rather odd, actually!

    To WARWICK WEST:
It seems apparent that you are a paper Bermudian.
Born BERMUDIANS and paper Bermudians will never be on my same page. Equal rights on paper but not psychologically so… that remains planted!!
I am BORN BERMUDIAN and excessively proud of that fact!!

    • Truthertz says:

      You’re a racist.

    • Sam says:

I’m a born Bermudian too – and I am embarrassed by you and your comments.

      • sugra says:

        Ditto

      • Kathy says:

Ditto! Hargun is an amazing, intelligent lawyer and he will be one of the most fair of Chief Justices Bermuda will ever have. He is the most capable person for the job!

    • answer says:

The best person for the job was appointed, and he is a Bermudian.

The reason you STILL don’t like it is because you are a racist.

  6. Stevie says:

Plp followers upset that one of their own got job. Get the hell over it. The best person got the job. Unlike the attorney general. Kim Wilson more qualified. Oh forgot jobs for Burts bunch. Not looking at who is more qualified. Burt as finance minister. Never the right choice.

  7. Warwick West says:

Straightforward – to ASSume is to make an ASS out of you. Dont be so quick. I am a BORN BERMUDIAN. Fourth generation.

    NOT THAT THAT SHOULD MATTER.

YOU need to get over yourself. You’r already late.
