Video: “Taking Off” Highlights Curtain Walling
Skyport has released the fourteenth episode of ‘Taking Off’, a video series with host Mikaela Pearman that highlights the airport redevelopment project, with this week’s video highlighting the curtain walling of the new terminal.
Speaking in the fourteenth episode, Mikaela Pearman said, “The site of the airport redevelopment project is coming together quickly and continues to be on schedule.
“I’m standing here on what will be the curbside drop off area for the new terminal, where more than half of the structural steel has been erected and the building is starting to take shape.
“So what can you expect to see over the rest of the summer? The biggest change will be curtain walling. But what is curtain walling? Curtain walling is part of the exterior envelope of a building. And in this case, it’s the installation of the glass work for the exterior of the new terminal.
“By using glass, natural light will illuminate the building and create an airy space. The curtain walling will continue in the upcoming months and is expected to be completed by February.
“Also, if you’ve driven by, you will see the roof is going up. A small section of building has been covered and work will continue into early next year.
“Once these two significant items are completed, the rest of the building will seem to go up very fast. July 2020 is just around the corner!”
PATI. Might as well just release everything now.
Looks like the project is really taking off
Can you please build a dock for boats to drop and pick up passengers? Thank you. Also can you sort out the customs/immigration line. It is so long, worst in the world. Yes worst. Its a terrible way to be welcomed to Bermuda. The officers are miserable and takes so long.
