13-Yr-Old Disembarked For Medical Treatment
The Celebrity Summit cruise ship arrived early in order to disembark a 13-year-old boy suffering from a suspected brain embolism, with the pilot boat St. David transferring the teenager to shore at 1.25am this morning [Aug 22].
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “At 5:26pm, Tuesday 21st August, the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre was contacted by the Captain of cruise ship Celebrity Summit, reporting the urgent need to disembark a 13-year-old boy, suffering from a suspected brain embolism.
“The vessel, then 150 miles northwest of Bermuda, continued under best speed towards the island for early arrival Wednesday morning.
“At 1:25am, Wednesday 22nd August, the patient was successfully transferred ashore by pilot boat St. David, under escort by ships medical team, and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“Celebrity Summit has since taken pilot and is now alongside King’s Wharf, Dockyard. “

This boy was my cousin. His name was Logan Michael Buscemi. He passed away a day after.
Logan was my best friend during this time, he’ll never be forgotten.
