18-Year-Old Golfer Mikus Ming On The Move
This week 18-year-old Mikus Ming played outstanding golf in the Optimist Junior Championship [16-18 age Group] in Palm Beach, Florida.
Mikus was in contention throughout the tournament and finished 7th out of 140 junior golfers with scores of 70-72-73-75[+2].
“Mikus’ success is a testament to the preparation he has undertaken – he left Bermuda at age 14 to attend boarding school in the USA and dedicated himself to golf,” Golf Pro Kim Swan said.
“Mikus will be a freshman at Tennessee State University in Nashville in 2 week’s on a golf scholarship. In addition, he has been selected to represent Bermuda at the World Amateur Championship [Eisenhower Cup] in Ireland in September.
“Mikus is self motivated and asked his parents to send him away for golf at age 14 – they acted positively to his passion. His grandfather legendary artist Chesley Trott has spent a lot of quality time with Mikus and I know he is most proud of Mikus’ progress and success.”
“Congratulation Mikus on your momentous achievement and all the best going forward in golf.”
