The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is holding an Ovarian Cancer Talk and Panel Discussion this evening [Sept 13], and you can tune in and watch below.
“BCHC is hosting an ovarian cancer presentation and panel as part of their ongoing Cancer Talks series on September 13 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute,” a spokesperson previously said.
“Guest speakers Dr. Chris Price, Oncologist at the Bermuda Hospital Board and Dr. Susana Campos, Medical Director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, will discuss the causes, risk factors, the role family history and genetics, early detection, treatment options and prognosis.”

Excellent presentations last night especially from the visiting speaker Dr. Susanna Campos, from Dana Farber. She had the latest in research and treatment options for ovarian cancer patients. She is also a practicing oncologist working primarily with ovarian cancer patients, she knew the quite intensely the knowledge and experiences of this disease. The message that strongly needs to be resonated is that local women who are diagnosed with this deadly cancer, which has the highest rate of recurrence is to seek out gynecologic surgeons and oncologists for their care. There are none on island. Your best chances of beating the short statistics on survival depends on you speaking with those experts dealing with this cancer daily and are on the cutting edge of treatment.
