Photos: ‘Break The Silence’ Candlelight Vigil

October 12, 2018

Another ‘Break the Silence’ Candlelight Vigil was held in the west end last night [October 11], with people coming together to remember their loved ones as well as urge an end to violence across the island.

Organiser Antonio Belvedere previously told Bernews that the Vigils are aimed at “unity and coming together,” as well as supporting people who have lost their loved ones to acts of violence.

  1. Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
    I am the morning hush,
    I am the graceful rush.
Oh beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine at night.
I am the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there I do not die.
    Mary Elizabeth Frye.
