The 12th annual TMR Sprint Triathlon was hailed as a huge success yesterday as it attracted even more young competitors.

And in addition, a charity helping to protect the Island’s young people received a cheque for $3,500 as TMR decided to reduce the number of trophies and use the money for donations instead.

Kathleen Faries, Head of TMR Bermuda, said: “We try and aim this event at the Island’s youth and I was delighted to see more young people taking part. One of TMR Bermuda’s missions is to promote the health and well-being of Bermuda’s youth, and sport can play a big role in achieving this goal.”

The Coalition for the Protection of Children received the cheque and Ms. Faries added: “Some time ago we decided to donate money in lieu of a large number of trophies and it was with great pleasure that I presented the Coalition with this donation on behalf of TMR and our participants.”
