67 Cyclists Compete In Race In West End

November 27, 2018

Fat Tire Massive held the second race of the 2018/2019 season this weekend, with the event held at the National Museum of Bermuda and also traveling through the old Casemates Prison.

“Every year, this race is cold, windy and often rainy. The weather was true to form with strong winds speeding the riders west and slowing them heading east,” a spokesperson said. “Happily the rain and wind eased off somewhat by race time.

“67 racers came to compete. In the open class, Nicholas Narraway took a break from college and laid down a marker leading the race from start to finish. Alan Potts, class winner at the Arboretum, put in a determined ride, but had to settle for second to year’s Adult B Champion. Alexander Miller was third. In the Female Open category, Ashley Robinson was uncontested.

“Thanks to our sponsors, Arch Re, BF&M, Cell One, RMS Boatworks, Spar Yard Marine Solutions and Signworx Limited. The next race will be at Lagoon Park on December 9th.”
