7 People Arrested At Road Sobriety Checkpoints
Seven people were arrested during the Roadside Sobriety Checkpoints from Friday night [Nov 23] until early Saturday morning [Nov 24], with one of the seven apprehended after a pursuit.
A police spokesperson said, “A total of seven motorists were arrested for impaired driving from Thursday, November 22nd until Sunday, November 25th.
“All seven were arrested during road sobriety checkpoints conducted from Friday night [November 23rd] until early Saturday morning [November 24th], with one of the seven apprehended after a pursuit.
“There are no road sobriety checkpoints scheduled for this weekend. However, members of the public are urged not to drive or ride under the influence as police officers conducting their regular patrols will be on the lookout for any offences, including impaired driving.”
Question, are the police mandated to set up a checkpoint in an advertised Parish? If they fail to do a checkpoint in a Parish that is advertised, are there any policy or legal consequences?
