Hockey: Calgary Hitmen, Rimouski Oceanic Win
A total of 16 goals were scored in a double header at the PCC Hockey Rink as the Bermuda Ball Hockey Association’s Winter League season continued.
Las Vegas Wranglers 2 Calgary Hitmen 9
The opener produced 11 goals, with the Calgary Hitmen defeating the Las Vegas Wranglers 9 – 2.
The Calgary Hitmen held a 2 – 0 lead at the end of the First Period after Ryan Marshall and Jeff Sangster scored a goal each.
The Las Vegas Wranglers would score twice in the Second Period with Robbie Bailey and Chad Cundliffe scoring, but the Calgary Hitmen would score three times to take a 5 – 2 lead into the final period, Jeff Morash, Akhil Kapur and Sangster scored for the Hitmen.
The Calgary Hitmen would score four unanswered goals in the Third Period with Akhil Kapur, Morash and a double strike from Jacob Marchant made the final score 9 – 2.
Kelowna Rockets 2 Rimouski Oceanic 3
The Rimouski Oceanic defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3 – 2 in overtime.
At the end of the First Period the two teams were deadlocked at 1 – 1, this after Brian Keats gave the Rimouski Oceanic the lead, but the Kelowna Rockets drew level with a goal off the stick of Adam Mattatall.
Neither team would score in the Second Period thus making the final 20 minutes interesting.
In the Third Period the Kelowna Rockets would take the lead when Bill Calko scored, but the Rimouski Oceanic equalized when Jeffrey Loper found the back of the net.
The winner would come in the Overtime Period when the Rimouski Oceanic a goal off the stick of Kyle Hankins.
