PwC Volunteers Help Clean Up At Southlands
PwC Bermuda volunteers teamed up with the Parks Department to help clean up and clear overgrown vegetation at Southlands Park.
Craig Burt of the Parks Department, whose volunteers also included Nathan Trott and Neville Hassell, commented, “On behalf of the Ministry of Public Works and the Department of Parks, I take this opportunity to once again thank the staff of PwC for supporting the environmental based works and initiatives of Southlands Park. The staff of PwC were first rate and worked hard for the two hours that they committed especially on a Sunday morning.
“We could not have asked for a better work ethic. For our small team in the Park Ranger and Lifeguard sections it is refreshing to volunteer with outside entities who have an active interest in the environment and parks. We made a significant dent in moving the trees that were cut down in the southwest corner of the coastal cliff, as well as the base of the driveway leading to the beach.”
Keir Savage, PwC Bermuda partner, said, “Our volunteers, including friends and family worked hard on Sunday, but also enjoyed the teamwork and sense of accomplishment after clearing and cutting back so many overgrown trees and bushes at the park. As part of our firm’s corporate responsibility, we hope to partner with the Parks Department again in the future, including returning to Southlands Park.”
