Annual Christmas Shoebox Giveaway Held
Marsh and Guy Carpenter employees have continued their annual holiday tradition of giving back to those in need by hosting its 4th annual Christmas Shoebox Giveaway yesterday afternoon, benefitting local charity Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda [BBBS].
This year, the firms donated 87 shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and toiletries to children between ages five and 17. Each child also received gift cards totaling $2,500.
Jahan Cedenio, Co-Chair of Marsh’s Corporate Social Responsibility [CSR] Committee said: “It’s a privilege for us to once again take part in the Christmas Shoebox Giveaway. This is a great way for us to support a very worthy charity on the Island and help ensure that no child goes without during the holiday season. We want to thank The Phoenix Stores Ltd. and Warwick Academy for their additional sponsorship and support.”
“What is really special about the Marsh and Guy Carpenter Christmas Shoebox Giveaway is they ask about the interests and needs of the child and want to give them each something impactful,” said Patrina O’Connor-Paynter, Managing Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda. ”This type of giving is very meaningful and brings great joy to our Littles. We can’t thank them enough for organizing this giveaway for the past four years.”
