Football: North Village Rams Defeat BAA 2 – 1
The North Village Rams will re-enter the draw for the Friendship following their 2 – 1 win over BAA at Goose Gosling Field last night in the first of two preliminary round matches to take place this weekend.
After a failure to advance a score in the first half, the two teams combined for three in a more productive second stanza.
Village got goals from Giniko Butterfield and Kyler Knights, while former Rams captain Keishen Bean scored the lone goal for BAA against his one-time comrades.
Village, last year’s beaten finalists, will now be drawn randomly with the remaining six eligible Premier Division for a quarter-final drawing of four matches in single-elimination format.
PHC play Paget today at PHC Stadium to decide the other entrant to the next round, with the Zebras favoured, rested and ready, but Paget showing signs of life in recent times.
