Photos: Chiko’s Smokey Rub Christmas Dinner
Bermudian chef Michiko Campbell — owner of Chiko’s Smokey Rub — hosted the fourth annual Christmas Charity Event at Albouy’s Point tonight [Dec 23].
Chef Chiko was once again giving back to the community during the holiday season by providing free meals to those in need, with hundreds of people expected to pay a visit in order to enjoy a turkey dinner.
Audio comment from Chef Chiko below:
There was a full array of food on offer and volunteers working hard to make sure the evening was a success. Seven year old Yu’udai Trott-Hayward – who has been present in previous years – was once again set up with a table full of toys as he wanted to help families who may not be able to afford a gift for their child this holiday season by giving his own toys away.
Premier David Burt, Deputy Premier Walter Roban, MP Kim Swan, Senator Vance Campbell, Opposition MP Michael Dunkley and others, stopped by to show their support and extend seasons greetings to the volunteers.
Maybe Burtcoin will give them some coin
The Bible say’s in Matthew 25:35-40, That when we do for those among us who are lest fortunate then ourselves, we have given unto Jesus Christ also, so as you have done unto the least of my brethren you have done it also unto me,(Jesus). To Chef Chiko and all the volunteer’s and all those who supported this venture, may God grant unto you manifold Blessing’s in Abundance, and may you continually be a source of hope and strength, to those among us, who have difficulties that life sometimes bring, may you always remember that we are our brother & sister’s keeper. Well done yet again and may you and your family have a Blessed Christmas and a very prosperous 2019.
And in the good book it says “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”

I love this! Merry Christmas all! Let’s all support this, the people, companies, etc. that make this special event happen. Thank you very much Chiko! We need more like you on this island.
without those companies that quietly and generously donate it would indeed be a non event .
“The Bible say’s…”
LOL, grow up. stop believing in fairy’s.
Why does this charity look like a political election rally and product promotion thang?
Well done, Chef!
