Temporary Closure Of X-Ray At Lamb Foggo
The X-ray machine at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre in the east end is awaiting replacement parts, so X-ray services cannot be provided at that location until the parts arrive, “which we hope will be by early next week,” Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] said today.
A spokesperson said, “BHB today advises that the X-ray machine at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre is awaiting replacement parts. X-ray services at the UCC cannot be provided until the parts arrive, which we hope will be by early next week.
“We will update the community once the machine is operational again. The remaining UCC services will be offered at the usual hours: Monday to Friday, 4pm-midnight, and weekends, noon to midnight. If attending patients require x-rays, however, they will be referred to KEMH.
“We apologise for any inconvenience as the repairs are completed.”
Lack of foresight and poor planning. They can hold press conferences to talk about healthcare but they can’t actually deliver it.
Really? It’s a machine. Machines happen to breakdown occasionally (just look at the bus situation) and last time I had a peek neither Masters or Gorhams carried parts for X-ray machines. We will all survive just means we may have to drive to the PRIMARY care facility like we all did for donkeys years.
Bad planning and poor facility maintenance. There is no excuse. Why don’t you hold another press conference so you can pretend you’re doing something.
I was in agreement with Bermy up until he used the bus situation as an example. The Bus situation is a prime example of poor planning and management by the government.
Bermy I have no idea how old you are but I’ve been around the block a few times. Most of us remember a time when everyone caught the bus. Most kids caught the bus to schools and the buses were often full of tourists and locals. Those buses were run longer and harder AND YOU NEVER HEARD OF ROUTES BEING CANCELLED! Now it has become the norm even though the buses run less, are much more efficient, have more horsepower and carry much lighter loads.
So sorry BERMY, the bus situation problem has gone on for years. We have gone thru three different governments (PLP, then OBA, and PLP again) and what has changed. Nothing.
