Legband Named CCSA Swimmer Of The Week
New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders [NJIT] freshman Kai Legband was named the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association’s [CCSA] Swimmer of the Week after they captured the 2018 ECAC Winter Championship title recently.
Legband helped NJIT capture the ECAC Winter Championships title with five race victories.
Standing a 6-foot-1, Legband who represented Bermuda at the Carifta Swimming Championships finished with a time of 45.05 in the 100 yard Freestyle for the win. He also helped take the 400 yard Freestyle Relay in a time of 3:05.98, which was more than two seconds faster than the second-place team that clocked 3:08.26.
Legband grabbed a 20.65 for the 50 Yard Freestyle title and was a part of the first-place 200 yard Freestyle Relay team, where he posted an anchor time of 1:24.59. He finished the competition with another top time, in the 800 yard Freestyle with a time of 6:52.82.
