Drone Seen Hovering Over Westgate On Feb 3

February 5, 2019

Today [Feb 5], Minister of National Security Wayne Caines received a report from Acting Commissioner of Corrections Keeva-mae Joell-Benjamin that a drone was seen hovering over the Westgate Correctional Facility in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 3.

A spokesperson said, “The police were notified of the sighting.

“Minister Caines wants to inform the public that meetings are being scheduled with the Ministers responsible for telecommunications and transport, the Attorney General and local telecommunications companies to find immediate solutions to prevent future occurrences and to make those areas a no fly zone.”

Minister Caines said, “While there is no evidence indicating the drone was used for illegal purposes, I want to remind the public that it is an offence to drop contraband into prison grounds, and the use of technology to commit criminal offences will not be tolerated.”

“As a precaution, patrols in the area will be enhanced, prisoners will be closely monitored and any persons found committing offences will be brought before the courts.”

drugs and all sorts of contraband make their way past security at westgate every day and they are worried about a drone? What are they concerned about? They concerned that we might see what is really going on?

All Drones and operators should have to be licensed.
A good way to make revenue for the government.

Add that to the very long list of unenforceable laws & licenses people don’t bother get.
