Kennedys Lawyers Top Ranked By Chambers
Two of Kennedys’ Bermuda partners have been ranked as being amongst the best in the jurisdiction, as its Dispute Resolution and Insurance teams continue to receive strong market recognition locally.
Partners Mark Chudleigh and Alex Potts QC have both been recognised as Band 1 lawyers in the latest edition of Chambers Global, an international legal directory based on extensive market research, which was published on 14 February 2019.
Mark Chudleigh has received market recognition as a Band 1 lawyer within the field of Contentious Insurance and a Band 2 lawyer within the field of Dispute Resolution, with sources describing him as an insurance disputes specialist with “excellent industry knowledge”, and “great leadership” qualities.
Alex Potts QC has been described within the directory as a Band 1 lawyer within the field of Dispute Resolution, with clients describing him as “the cream of the crop: focused, knowledgeable, articulate, organised and forthright”.
Chambers Global has ranked the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Insurance departments as Band 2 practices in Bermuda, with sources noting the team’s “dynamism”, “multinational reach”, and “extremely good service”.
Chambers Global has also given high rankings to Kennedys’ international offices in the UK, the USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Latin America, France, and the United Arab Emirates, recognising Kennedys’ global expertise in the fields of Dispute Resolution and Insurance [including the firm’s extensive expertise in Bermuda Form insurance arbitrations, as well as corporate, regulatory and transactional services for the insurance industry].
These latest rankings follow similar accolades bestowed on Kennedys’ Bermuda-based partners, including Nick Miles, by the most recent global editions of The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal.
The firm is currently in growth mode in Bermuda, having welcomed three highly-qualified lawyers to its ranks recently, all of whom have joined the Bermuda office within the past month. The recent recruits include Nicolas Champ, Lewis Preston and Roshan Sidhu, each of whom has worked for a number of years in an international law firm, with significant professional experience gained in Bermuda, England and Wales, the British Virgin Islands, France, and Hong Kong.
Kennedys’ Bermuda office currently employs eight lawyers locally, all of whom are dual-qualified in England and Bermuda, with some also admitted to the Bars of other jurisdictions. In addition to strengthening its team locally in Bermuda, two Bermudians are also currently training with Kennedys’ London office, en route to qualification as English solicitors, and further recruitment is anticipated in the months to come.
